Moraine Farm Beverly, MA Wedding, Alex + Chris

"Life is a journey, it is full of highs and lows, and not without an occasional detour. We begin our journey with the love and support of our families. Along the way we find the love of a few true friends.  The road is long with many choices. And one day you find someone that touches your soul, and the journey changes forever. "

Alex and Chris met at Duke University through a large pool of mutual friends. They have a sweet story of a friendship that slowly turns into a real romance.

Chris recalls an a-ha moment, that for Alex would not happen until a little later. A group of their friends went out to eat because Chris's mom was in town. As he sat laughing and chatting, Alex walked in wearing a long flowing maxi-dress. Chris was mesemerized and never forgotten that moment since.

After seeing each other several more times, and getting to know each other, they decided to hang out one night and watch Planet Earth. Only thing was, none of their other friends could make it. So they made a blanket fort, and snuggled up while learning about how awesome nature is. Even though sparks were flying and thoughts were racing, they did not share their first kiss until the following day!

A few years later and they were all graduated with jobs, and Chris knew he wanted to propose. As avid board gamers, they had been going through a long phase of playing Settler's of Catan. Alex had a weekend vacation planned with her family visiting from the Philippines, and Chris new that would be an amazing opportunity to celebrate.

Being the creative guy he is, Chris designed, machined and created a CUSTOM Settler's of Catan proposal card. He colluded with her family to rig the game and make the proposal a success. Alex, unsure of what the card meant when it landed in her deck, took quite a while to look up and see Chris with a ring in his outstretched hand. That day, Chris won Alex's hand in marriage.  definitely the most unique proposal we have ever heard of.

Now here we are on a perfect late summer day at the Moraine Farm, ready to celebrate the union of Alex and Chris! But first, a little eye candy.

Florals by the amazing Blooms of Hope (sadly no longer in business).

Not one to miss a moment, Chris gave a heartfelt 20 minute speech to everyone closest to them before the ceremony began. Everyone was crying toward the end.

I think everyone can agree that their bridal party was #squadgoals and they all look ready to get to the marriage part.

They had a beautiful denominational ceremony in the shade surrounded by their family and friends. There were a few inspiring poems read by their friends, and the lovely Priscilla Geaney officiated the ceremony.

Only seeing isn't believing anymore folks, hearing it all is just as important. That's why we have this beautiful late summer New England wedding ready for your viewing pleasure; have your tissues ready and your dancing pants on!

I mean, so full of heart and bursting with emotion right????

One of my favorite tiny moments was when Alex twirled Chris during their first dance. Sometimes you need to mix it up ladies! Your man does not always have to lead!

Andy Sussman of TSG Weddings spun tunes into the night and everyone partied their butts off.

And at the very end of it all, everyone huddled into a circle of love and sent these two lovebirds off into the next chapter of their life together.

Special thank you to the one and only Dan Aguirre, who continues to be a wonderful collaborator and outstanding photographer to work with.
