Telling stories of love and life

i’m constantly surprised and inspired by the couples I meet, and am honored with the task of capturing their most cherished moments.

I’M RACHEL! THE FILMMAKER.

I love cheese even though I’m lactose intolerant, my favorite color is purple, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is the best TV show ever created (this is an indisputable fact).

Storytelling with a camera is something I crave on a daily basis. I started young, thirteen to be exact, filming the squirrels in my backyard. That love of film never waned, so I got my BA in Film Production. The beauty of the wedding world drew me in soon after graduating.

Weddings give us the opportunity to stop and appreciate who we have in our lives, and what they mean to us. Who in the world would NOT want to be part of that?

So I started Olive Ewe Productions to bring my storytelling passion to the most important day in people’s lives. People just like you!

I have served the greater New England area for the past twelve wedding seasons, and each year it just gets better. I’m constantly surprised and inspired by the couples I meet, and am honored with the task of capturing their most cherished moments. I’m looking forward to getting to know you!

My Approach

You know that feeling after you’ve watched a really great movie? The screen is black but your head is still swimming in this magical land you were part of for a brief time. And that little fire keeps burning even after the lights have come up and you exit the theatre. That is the feeling I want you to have when you watch your wedding film for the umpteenth time. Because your wedding day will be that magical, and you deserve to relive those feelings at any time.

Maybe you’re thinking “Comparing a wedding video to a film in a movie theatre is a little lofty, isn’t it Rachel?”

No.

This is not your parent’s wedding video stuck on a tripod at the back of the church. You will be swept away, completely captivated, and transported back to this amazing day in your lives.

How am I so sure? Well, I have studied this craft for most of my life. With that passion and constant drive to learn, I gained the ability to create a truly cinematic viewing experience.

Rachel is not only a consummate professional at what she does but really is passionate about making your wedding day simple and stress-free. The end result was a beautiful video that captured every element of the day

 our story

That's right, you can watch MY wedding video!

The internet may forever know us as that couple that got each other the same gift on their wedding day, but believe it or not there was an actual wedding that took place. If you want a variety of options in New England that are all equally beautiful this is your place. Right on Lake Champlain, tons of open fields, walking trails, and a somewhat gothic looking barn.

Now you're wondering who filmed MY wedding?! Well, my second shooters did, they’re that good :)

Behind the name Olive Ewe Productions

When tasked with dreaming up a name for this little Boston based wedding video company I knew I needed help. So, I enlisted the help of lovely man whom I call my best friend and now husband. Early in our relationship we would text each other silly things like Elephant Shoe, or Olive Juice, because phonetically they sound like "I Love You." This is the main idea behind the company name.

As we sat in our dingy basement apartment brainstorming and putting strange words together, suddenly "Olive Ewe" stumbled out of somebody's mouth. THAT'S IT! I shouted.

Olives are a symbol of peace and wisdom, which I do believe are important aspects of a relationship. However let's be honest. The real reason I latched on to Olive Ewe was because I LOVE sheep. I know that sounds a little weird because they are some of the dumbest animals around. But hear me out.

  1. I grew up watching Lamb Chop while holding my favorite stuffed animal in the world, a Lamb.

  2. Rachel, my name, in Hebrew רחל, literally means Ewe.

  3. They are fluffy and cute!

Why the word productions, instead of videography, or videos, or simply films?

To me your wedding film is more than showing up with a camera on the day and slapping some music underneath the images and calling it done. I get to know you as a couple and as individuals, your likes and dislikes, and the things that matter most to you. This requires an approach and attention to detail worthy of a full fledged film production.

And there you have it, the origin and story behind Olive Ewe Productions' name.

Oh my god did you read all of this? I love you.
