Curtis Farm NH Wedding Film, Christian + Ruth
"When my dad left this world my heart was left with a hole, Christian you fill my soul, we share the same soul."
Buckle up, let that page load, and get ready for a real doozy of a wedding blog folks. Today we dive into the magical story of Christian & Ruth's summer NH wedding.
They met 6 years ago in an Enterprise Rent-a-Car outside the airport the day after Ruth's birthday. Ruth forgot her driver's license in Canada, so Christian could not rent her the car, but he used that as an opportunity to get her number to follow up later. His boss made him a bet, if she would take him out to dinner he could take the next day off. With the added bonus, he gave her a call.
Their first date lasted 6 hours and spanned several bars in downtown Boston. But because Ruth only took him out to a drink (or several) he still had to go into work the next day.
Fun fact (and some foreshadowing): That night, as Christian was walking Ruth back to her car they saw a huge line of people in the mall waiting for a video game release. He suggested it would be fun to pretend to propose to her in front of everyone. She agreed and they got "fake" engaged that night.
After Ruth's work assignment was up, she headed back to Canada and they parted ways but kept in touch. When her father passed away a couple weeks later, Christian dropped everything and drove up to support her and be with her family. It was from that point on that their relationship deepened and made the journey from Canada to Boston to see each other frequently.
The weekend they got engaged they went away to Vermont. He cooked her favorite food for dinner, crab legs, and they laid out on blankets underneath the stars. As Ruth turned to pour herself a glass of champagne, she thought to herself, "If there was a perfect night to propose this would be it" and as she turned around, he had a ring box open for her to see. She then said what she refers to as "The strongest yes she has ever said."
We are halfway down the page and have not even mentioned their most amazing day ever!
Things started out getting ready at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nashua, NH. Ruth had the most AMAZING braid done with a lace flower crown adorned to it. She made for the most stunning boho bride.
Christian and the guys slapped on their suspenders and matching brown loafers, and Christian looked dapper in his blue suit with a bowtie.
Then we all hopped on down to Curtis Farms for the ceremony and reception. We were graced with the perfect weather, not too hot, not at all cold, and not a drop of rain in site. Everyone was in a stellar mood, and the crowd was literally cheering as everyone walked down the aisle. I have never in my life seen that before. Check out their video, you have to see it to believe it.
One of the most emotional and touching moments of the day (aside from the entire ceremony *sniff*) was probably when Ruth and Christian shared a dance in honor of their passed father and mother. Ruth's father's favorite musician being Elvis Presley, naturally they danced to "An American Trilogy." Everyone cried and cheered, and then the party got started.
The party was brought by DJ Lowkie of Dynamic Vibe Entertainment. This guy is the real deal DJ, and worth checking out if you're ever in his part of the world. He travels all over playing shows, and the occasional wedding.
Congrats you two, a truly unforgettable day, it was a true honor to be part of.
Shout out to the one and only amazing Kate of Freebird Photography for being an amazing shooting partner. She rocked those portrait sessions.
Emilie Jefferson of Pop 2 Life was the coordinator extrordinaire, who managed all us vendors magnificently and made everyone's jobs so much easier.
