And then they were engaged. We closed out June with these two beautiful goofballs on Peaks Island. Peaks Island feels like a hidden gem, and I almost hesitate to tell you all how great it is so it stays that way but here we go. A quick 20 minute ferry from Portland and you're in a whole new world. Golf carts whip around the hilly streets and there's this immediate feeling of "island time."
It's picturesque without feeling stuffy and a place that I immediately want to go back to. Or perhaps that is because I now associate this place with such a special day? Get ready for a booty shakin, tongue hanging out of your mouth party, and a little bit of sobbing kind of film!
During their ceremony, the opening of the film "Love, Actually" was read aloud, and I could not resist the temptation to recreate the moment in the film at Glasgow airport with loved ones hugging each other. It seemed like the most appropriate thing after the separation we all experienced. An homage to their first date movie, and a celebration of their friends and family. Let me finish this post with a little vendor appreciation. This was a truly collaborative group of people, and a team I hope that can get together again soon. Kate and Matt, thank you for assembling us, and having such a beautiful day.
